The Anticancer and Wellness Diet Plan



Cancer is a mysterious disease characterized by the abnormal growth of cells in the body. It can be caused by a lot of factors such as various harmful chemicals in the environment, by the food we eat, by the kind of lifestyle we lead, and smoking. 

We can prevent the development of cancer by following a healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle. But what constitutes a healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle?

I wrote this article primarily to share the experience of an ovarian cancer survivor who wrote about the kind of diet program that she pursued since she was diagnosed with cancer more than five years ago. I thought that this would be helpful not only to cancer survivors but also to those who fear having this dreaded disease in any form.

The number of women getting breast cancer has increased in recent years and it is the fear of this disease that got me to take a closer and more serious look at this article and make this more personal so I can connect to those women who want to know more about how to prevent breast cancer, what this disease is all about, what foods to avoid, what food to eat and just everything about breast cancer.

The anticancer diet plan below has been used by this lady for many years now and she has not been sick since following this diet plan.

After battling and surviving ovarian cancer, the lady advices that you should totally abstain from these types of food:
REFINED SUGAR. Why? What about refined sugar?
  • Refined sugar disrupts the body's pH level making the body more acidic. This harms the body when it responds to this abnormal situation by obtaining minerals from inside the body to protect the various organs of the body as when calcium is taken from the bones eventually causing the bones to become brittle and prone to fractures and osteoporosis. 
  • Refined sugar ultimately destroys the lining of the digestive tract causing digestion and stomach problems.  
  • Refined sugar does not possess antioxidant properties that protect the body from cancer. 

Alternatives to refined sugar:
  • Molasses. Research show that among the natural alternatives to refined sugar, molasses have the highest antioxidant content compared to maple syrup, corn syrup, agave nectar and brown sugar, and therefore the best substitute in fighting cancer. 
  • Brown sugar.
  • Honey
  • Maple syrup
  • Coconut palm sugar
  • Agave nectar
  • Stevia
  • Xylitol 


IODIZED SALT. All the while we thought iodized salt was healthy. Well, it used to be when it was first used in the 1920s. However, things have changed since then as iodized salt that is currently sold in grocery stores, supermarkets and convenience stores contain synthetic ingredients such as flouride sodium bicarbonate, sodium solo coaluminate, iodide, anti-caking agents, derivatives of aluminum, and potassium iodide. Iodized salt has also been bleached to achieve its pure white color making it toxic to the body thus iodized salt is no longer considered a healthy source of iodine. 

The idea of adding iodine to salt started in 1924 in the US because of the increasing cases of goiter within the Great Lakes area and the Pacific Northwest states. These states had very little iodine in their soil plus the fact that residents were having very little iodine in their diet. With the addition of iodized salt in the diet, the incidence of goiter was greatly reduced and iodized salt has since then became part of the American diet.

8 Possible Causes of Erectile Dysfunction




Erectile dysfunction, also called impotence, occurs when the penis is not able to achieve an erection when sexually stimulated. 

An erection occurs when the penis receives electric signals being sent from the brain when you are sexually aroused.  As this happens, blood rushes to the penis and remains there in an environment that is very similar to a sponge.

1. Psychological factors contribute a lot to the incidence of erectile dysfunction. Depression, anxiety, and things that are going on in your mind all contribute to the incidence of impotence. Thoughts that constantly bother you such as problems about money, work, children and relationships, and other nagging thoughts that clutter your mind can interfere with your ability to achieve erection.

2. Neurogenic diseases are types of illness that can cause erectile dysfunction. These diseases originate from the nerves and nerve tissues of the body. The calming and relaxing effect of these medications can adversely affect your response and diminish the excitement that you are supposed to feel when you are sexually stimulated.

4. Old age may contribute to impotence. Old people experience impotence due to several factors that accompany the natural process of aging such as lack of energy, weakness and less interest for sex. However, unlike other similar disorders, erectile dysfunction can affect younger males, too.

5. Diabetes and multiple sclerosis may also cause erectile dysfunction. Diabetes and multiple sclerosis are two debilitating diseases which affect the functions of the nervous system and the body's normal blood flow and can greatly interfere with your ability to achieve erection. Diabetes can affect the normal flow of blood to the penis while multiple sclerosis, which is a disease of the central nervous system can interfere with the transmission of signals from the brain to the penis during sexual stimulation.

6. Smoking may interfere with the body's normal blood flow and cause impotence. This claim may be true only for certain people because not all smokers experience impotence and not all those who experience impotence are smokers. However, smokers who are currently experiencing impotence may benefit from not smoking to allow nicotine-free blood to circulate and flow freely and subsequently help you achieve erection.

7. A major surgery may also contribute to impotence. A person who has just undergone a major operation may experience temporary impotence due to physical weakness, lack of strength and low interest for sex. Who would be aroused amidst post-operation pain and discomfort? However, this lack of interest for sex after operation should only be temporary otherwise, there could be another underlying cause for the impotence.

8. Problems affecting the kidneys can be another cause of erectile dysfunction. A male patient who constantly undergoes dialysis and other procedures related to his illness cannot expect to achieve erection in the midst of discomfort, of taking various medications, and of worrying about his condition, his family and finances.

The Dangers of Biotin (Vitamin B7) Deficiency





Biotin is also called vitamin B7. It used to be called vitamin H which stands for "haar" and "haut" for hair and skin in German. It specifically refers to the hair and skin because a lack of biotin in the diet causes hair loss and skin disease.

What can possibly happen when you lack biotin in diet diet? Biotin deficiency can affect you in many ways:

It can cause:

  • bacteria present in the intestines of healthy people manufacture more biotin than the amount needed by the body thus adequately supplying the amount required by the body.
You can get biotin from the food that you eat everyday. Biotin is present in eggs, milk, vegetables like cauliflower, cucumbers and onions, fish, nuts, berries, carrots and the Swiss chard which is considered to have the highest biotin content.

Gestational Diabetes - What You Need To Know
